You going to the LA Conference?
Julius - yep, I will be going to the LA conference. The last was very good, wel worth the ridiculous price! I noticed on your blog your mention of "loosely libertarian" speakers! Was the guy who wanted to expel immigrants David Conway? I was saddened by how conservative he was - Chris Tame, at the meeting, summed him up as reflecting the "paleo-libertarian" sentiments of Rothbard. But that is the Rothbard that saddened me, compared to the younger model!
It was David Marsland. I don't know what David Conway's views on immigration are - but I guess we have to accept that plenty of libertarians disagree with us on this. Did Rothbard come out explicitly in favour of State controls on immigration? I know he said he changed his views in the light of Soviet colonisation of the baltic republics, but is one thing to be against state planned colonisation, it is another thing to be in favour of taxed funded men with guard dogs!
